Antique Brass 3-Arm Candelabra – Empire Neoclassical, Acanthus & Gadroon Detail
A superb single three-arm candelabra in heavy cast brass, working in the Empire and Neoclassical tradition — a style that prizes precision casting, architectural proportion, and restrained ornament. Every element of this piece rewards close inspection: the acanthus leaf sleeve on the stem, the gadrooned disc at the arm junction, the melon-ribbed baluster node, and the swirling shell-and-gadroon base with its fine beaded edge border.
Three arms sweep outward and upward from the central stem, each terminating in a tulip-shaped sconce with an embossed acanthus leaf collar and a gadrooned drip tray — the classic Empire candelabra form. The overall silhouette is balanced and elegant, with a warm dark antique brass patina that speaks to genuine age.
