Matched Pair of Antique Brass 2-Arm Candelabra – Baroque Rococo, Barley-Twist Stem
A magnificent matched pair of heavy cast brass two-arm candelabra in the Baroque and Rococo revival tradition — substantial, beautifully detailed, and deeply impressive in person. Pairs of this quality and size are increasingly rare to find in matching condition, making this a particularly significant find for a collector or interior stylist.
Each candelabra is a tour de force of the brass-caster’s art. The barley-twist rope stem rises from a tri-footed base of three scrolled cabriole legs, above a pierced reticulated round platform decorated with beading and acanthus relief. The stem passes through an ornate baluster node with a heart-shaped cartouche medallion, before branching into elaborate C-scroll and S-scroll openwork that supports the two arms. Each arm terminates in a tulip-shaped sconce with embossed leaf decoration — one arm extending horizontally, one rising to the crown.
