Vintage White Ceramic Chamberstick – Acanthus Leaf Relief, Rococo Style

An exquisite vintage white ceramic chamberstick (hand candleholder), entirely covered in a beautifully detailed all-over acanthus leaf and floral relief moulding. The white glaze catches the light magnificently, with wonderful depth and shadow in the sculpted recesses. A truly decorative and collectible piece.

The base bears a blue underglaze crowned crest stamp identifying this as Victoria / Chodau (Chodov) — a quality Bohemian ceramic manufacturer from the Karlsbad (Karlovy Vary) region of Bohemia, active from the mid-19th century through the 20th century. A mould/model number is also present on the base.
